For over a quarter century, American Machining has set the industry standard for excellence in servicing metal Intermediate Bulk Containers. AMI provides you with complete compliance to the mandated DOT / UN requirements for your IBC fleet, including certified conversions with fast turn-around. AMI prepares and maintains all documents, and stores copies of your records for the mandatory two and one half years.

For IBC’s intended to contain solids loaded or discharged under pressure, or for IBC’s used for liquids, the requirements for re-certification, as outlined in 49 CFR 180.352 include:

Leakproofness testing per 49 CFR 178.813
External visual inspections to confirm

The IBC is capable of withstanding the applicable qualification tests, as well as being free from cracks, warping, corrosion, or other damage which may render the IBC unsuitable for transportation.
Service equipment is fully functional and free from damage
The IBC is marked according to current regulations and updated with the test date.
