A TRUE FIVE-FUNCTION FUSIBLE VENT

(A) Engineered HDPE Ring.
The innovated ring is responsible
for providing all five functions. It is
black HDPE to withstand exposure
to UV light, most solvents, and other chemicals. Certified to meet DOT/UN standards.
(B) Stainless Steel Fitting.
A welded end fitting resists
chemical attack and the rigor
of use. HDPE-to-stainless
contact means no thread galling.
(C) Molded-in Gasket.
Buying separate gaskets and
keeping track of them are
unnecessary because one is
already molded-in under the
top's lid. (optional EPDM
gasket is available for pressures
above 15 PSIG)
(D) Smooth Surface.
The precision-machined surface
mates with the mold-in gasket
to create a tight seal.
(E) A Flush Fit.
The fitting is machined to match
the gage of the tank's lid and fit
flush with the underside. The
flush fit eliminates a solids
collection point and a cleaning headache.
(F) Low, Safe Profile.
The design is well below the tank's stacking ears to shield against impact.

FUNCTION #1 Filling Port
Besides anchoring the
reusable, vents the
3" NPS fitting also
functions as a filling port.
The wide diameter makes
filling much more convenient.
FUNCTION #2 Safety Vents
The two patented ports are well
above the threads so that the tank
will begin venting any built-up
pressure within a quarter turn;
venting accurse away from the
operator's face and prevents the
device from popping like a
champagne cork.
FUNCTION #3 Pressure Valve
A valve opens when pressure inside the tank builds to a preset level.
FUNCTION #4 Vacuum Valve
A valve opens when the outside pressure exceeds that inside the tank by a preset amount.
The fusible portion of the HDPE ring softens and blows at less than 300 degrees F.
Unlike other five-in-one fusible vents, AMI's patented Five-In-One FUZ-Vent truly does perform five tasks: It functions as a filling port. Vents built up pressure that can cause it to pop like a champagne cork during removal. Relieves pressure building to otherwise explosive levels. Equalizes vacuums, and blows at high temperatures.
These five functions are not the vent's only important design features, however. The Five-in-One™, is reusable and easy to clean. When the time comes to clean or fill a tank, simply unscrew the black HDPE ring holding the vent-and-valve assembly, wash it, and put it back in. The design meets and exceeds DOT/UN packaging specifications for the transportation of hazardous materials.
